An exciting, intense and unpredictable comedian; there’s genuinely no telling what she’ll do next

Demi Lardner

With a distinct blend of dark comedy, absurdity, and surreal storytelling, Demi Larder has become a standout in the Australian stand-up scene. Her performances often explore wacky topics with a quirky and offbeat delivery, leaving audiences both puzzled and laughing in equal measure.

Demi started out at just 15 and has been an unstoppable force on the live comedy scene ever since. Their unpredictable and high-energy live performances along with numerous podcast collaborations has seen this Australian based comic spend the past few years blazing around Australia and beyond sharing their unique style of surreal comedy. Demi has picked up a solid and healthy slew of fans along the way, not to mention a seriously impressive swag of awards.

Demi’s career has received resounding reviews from the get-go. In 2013 Demi became the national winner of Australia’s RAW Comedy which earned them a place in Edinburgh’s ‘So You Think You’re Funny?’ which by no surprise, Demi took out joint first place. The same year Demi won the Best Emerging Award at the 2013 Adelaide Fringe as co-writer and director of Wolf Creek, The Musical.

The awards continued in 2016 with an Australian tour of Life Mechanic claiming the Sydney Comedy Festival Best Newcomer Award, and receiving a nomination for Best Newcomer Award at the Melbourne Int. Comedy Festival.  They then followed up with a Director's Choice award at MICF in 2017 for Look What You Made Me Do. In the following year, Ditch Witch 800 received The Best International Show award at New Zealand Comedy Festival, the Directors Choice Award at Sydney Comedy Festival and a nomination for Best Show at Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Demi’s collaborations with Tom Walker earned the pair yet another Director’s Choice award at 2019 Sydney Comedy Festival for 'We Mustn’t'.

Demi's creative projects don't just stop with live comedy. They starred alongside Sarah Snook, Hugh Jackman, and Jemaine Clement as the voice of teenage daughter Alison in Superhero animated sitcom Koala Man. The series premiered in January 2023 on Hulu and Disney+.

Alongside their collaborator, co-host, and husband Tom Walker, Demi has maintained a hardcore following of rabid fans with the Bigsofttitty.PNG podcast, which has served to showcase their unique blend of improvisatory mastery and comedic madness. They are also a cast member of Dungeons & Dragons podcast troop Dragon Friends, whose live performances, regular series, and spin offs have accumulated a loyal following over the last 10 years.

More recently Demi has turned to Twitch and has amassed nearly 10k followers as she has explored alternate ways to turn her chaotic ideas into comedic gold. Collaborating with other streamers all over the world and bringing experimental formats to the medium, this newest venture has seen Demi create some of their wildest projects yet, including her live game show So You Want to Win a Penis Pump? The gameshow has proven to be a crowd favourite and most recently was played with a live audience a part of Aunty Donna's South By Southwest event Grouse by Grouse Fest in 2024.
